Overview

Who Is Enis Çalışkan?

Enis Çalışkan graduated with honours from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at İstinye University. Following graduation, he deepened his professional development through certificate programmes chosen along the axis of manual therapy and orthopaedic rehabilitation. In musculoskeletal pain and functional limitations, he takes an individualised approach that prioritises improving mobility, managing pain and enhancing quality of life.

Professional Journey

Education and Professional Journey

From his undergraduate years, his interest turned to the musculoskeletal system and spinal health. Manual therapy — a field where knowledge translates directly into hands-on practice and change can be observed within the session — largely defined his professional direction. After his clinical placement, he gained experience with musculoskeletal cases and lower back and neck rehabilitation at different private clinics in İstanbul, and continues this approach at FizyoWise.

Advanced Training

Key Training Programmes

MANEX Concept (Manual Therapy – Neuroscience – Exercise)

A neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation programme bringing manual therapy, neuroscience and exercise together within a single framework. It is grounded in the discipline of assessing the person as a whole — not only anatomically, but through pain perception, lifestyle and psychosocial context.

OMT (Osteopathic Manual Therapy)

Covers spinal manipulation, osteopathic articulation and kinesiology taping techniques. Most of the manual therapy techniques used in practice, along with the foundation of clinical safety assessment, are based on this training.

Integrated Kinetic Neurology (IKN) — Levels 1 and 2

Focuses on the role of the nervous system in movement and pain; it offers practical methods used in assessment and exercise selection.

His Approach

His Approach to Treatment

For Enis Çalışkan, assessment is the most decisive moment of treatment. When the pain began, which movements aggravate it and how it affects daily life are the first signs of where the process should start. When the history, the clinical findings, and the person's age, occupation and daily routine are considered as a whole, a sound treatment road map takes shape. This assessment is followed by an individualised plan: manual therapy techniques, an exercise programme prepared for the person and, where needed, education about what the pain or movement pattern means. The effectiveness of the process is supported not only by the sessions but by the person's active participation; home exercises and daily-life recommendations are therefore an integral part of the approach.

“Every body tells a story; without understanding that story, it is hard to find the right direction.”
